Translated from Italian, Ciabatta means “slipper”- a reference to the the low, flat shape of these rolls. Our Ciabatta has a medium crust, slightly lighter than our Pugliese Rolls with a similar large hole interior. A little sour starter is added along with yeast yielding a subtle tang that compliments all sorts of sandwich ingredients. Filled and pressed they make for an incredible panini. These rolls are topped with freshly roasted onions right before they are baked.
